Session 90 - Falling in Darkness
Our troops zap back to Suzail and make some appropriate purchases for heading back into the darkness of Tilverton. This time, they know more of what to expect and how to prepare, but they cannot prepare enough for what happens next.
Back at Tilverton, the party pushes back into the darkness, carrying Peccable's bright stones. They are set upon immediately by a group of Greater Shadows more numerous than encountered before. It takes them some time to get through them, and there are casualties. Most deal with the draining of strength within their own personal idioms, however Peccable is unable to withstand the blighting of the Shadows, somehow suffering proportionally more than the others. It makes little sense. Perhaps the Shadows sense Peccables great holiness and are more intent on destroying him. They succeed. Peccable dies.
Jill tells them they were very lucky to have killed the Shadow that landed the killing blow, as those killed by a Shadow can be turned to Shadow very quickly afterwards.
All haste is made back to Suzail, where the party springs, for the first time ever, for True Resurrection. A brother at the Church of Mystra, one 'Wyeth the Resurrector', no less, performs the great deed for them, and Peccable is restored with not even a hangover.
