Session 75 - Blood on the Guardhouse Floor

Figuring that corrupt Guard Arta is the next person most likely to produce useful information, a step up the ladder of blame, if you will, Divine Fortune plan a covert extraction. Of a Guard. From the Guardhouse. In broad daylight.

It starts well with Ibis and Jill diguised as Bash and Terili, hired thugs, taken by Yiedan, lead thug, to make the bridge-bag drop. They make it, then take out poor Yiedan, and double back to allow the rest of the party to teleport in via Taedors scrying.

Then things get interesting.

Much invisible sneaking around inside the Guardhouse ensues, with Ibis at one point having to knock out a poor desk clerk in order to get out of his office without raising alarm. They eventually find Guard Arta, and follow him and some street-guards to the room where the bag was dropped, and then all hell breaks loose.

Arta is quickly 'held' by Jill, and Peccable puts up an impenetrable wall of spinning blades to close off the battle from possible external support. The extra guards are knocked out without serious injury, (except for a minor unfortunate incident involving Dwertern, a nasty sharp axe, and, well, you can guess the rest), and the party (mostly) teleports back to 'The Last Insult' to interrogate Arta. After being charmed, he too seems only happy to introduce his new friends to his contact, Mehmon, a member of the 'Cult of the Dragon'.
