Session 74 - Bags Under Bridges
Divine Fortune set out from Westgate in a caravan directed by a man named Belagar, an amiable fellow and all get on well. The group pass through the city of Teziir where they sample a few quiet ales in the 'Hairy Kobold', and Peccable and Jill go up the road a few blocks to where the party is really happening. It seems she's really getting blasted these days, now that Peccable can provide a Hero's Feast every morning which cures all disease (such as Cerosis) and Nausea.
After a few more days, the group hits Elversult, and in the 'Last Insult' they learn that Belagar's brother Belondre is missing, trying to infiltrate a group that has kidnapped his friend's (Kosef) wife (Mara).
Divine Fortune are on the case, and in a few hours, have three (obvious) lackeys bailed up in the tavern on charges of being involved.
Journal of Ibis
Well, we have finally waved Westgate ‘goodbye’ and hit the road. I hope Lorenzo and the monks of the Abbey of Blinding Truth can hold off the stink of corruption that fouls the air there. The hold the Night Masks has on the city is obvious. While I feel it’s our duty to root out the evil of the city, our path leads elsewhere. Caladnei of Cormyr was at the lecture on Shadow Magic at the Mage Fare all those months ago, and we sure need some guidance and allies who understand the plight of the Weave if we are to track down these Shadow Moot. The betrayal Diedora wrecked upon Divine Fortune still burns a fury in my heart!
We are traveling with a merchant caravan via road to Suzail. Given our dealings with the Bitch Queen we don’t feel safe on the open water – pity. The road has taken us by Tezir where we tried to find the Sage of our frequent employ, Roger. It appears he is traveling ahead of us and we may catch up with him in Elversult. Jill had a raucous night of the town before we continued onto the said city. Having a Heroes Feast to greet the day each morn is a guaranteed hangover cure. I do wonder at the wisdom of this....lets hope some of us don’t get caught up in any trouble because of it.
In any case, trouble greets us at Elversult in the form of a kidnapping. We set a plan in motion to do a false drop and intercept those doing the collecting. Minor players they turn out to be but there suspicious actions tell me they aren’t completely innocent. Through them we hope to track down the poor soul to is being held and root out the ring leader. Early signs are that they are authority figure so justice may have to be rough. I’m trusting my own judgment on these matters more and more. I just hope Peccable meets me eye to eye.
